Hunting has been practiced since ancient time. It is dated back to the stone age period. Archeological evidence indicates a finding of some hunting equipment such as spears and stone weapons that humans used to hunt with. Evidences of animal bones also show that it was practiced during that time. The weapons discovered were those of close combat. This shows ancient people had to chase the animal till they come close it and then stab it. The way Texas bow hunts for whitetail evolved over the years.

With the change in time there came the migration of people to the various continents in the world. This led to the invention of new hunting strategies however the original hunting methods did not change. One of the new methods created is trapping. Hunting was conducted mainly for food as it is a basic requirement for one to survive.

The trapping was invented in order to capture small animals like rabbits, squirrels, and birds. There was the use of sticky substances that were applied on tree branches and when bird landed on the trees they would be stuck. Later on people came to collect them. The bait was the seeds that bird liked to feed on. Squirrels and rabbits were in most cases caught by the use of nets among other animal traps.

Afterwards the hunting evolved from just a survival technique to a sport. Recreational hunting was practiced mostly in the Roman and the Greek empires. Hunting was mainly for the rich people who conducted the activity while on horse backs with arrows and bows. Animals hunted included wild pigs and deer. The people in this era had domesticated some animals which they could feast on so the hunting was just a leisure activity

In other parts of the world especially Africa it was used as a rite of passage from childhood to adulthood. Many communities are known for this practice. Young men are sent off to the forest to kill a lion for them to proof they are men. This was a very dangerous thrill that got many young men to be killed by wild animals.

A form of hunting, involving trapping and killing of sea animals is known as fishing. People whose homes are located close to water bodies like lakes, oceans among others are said to have mostly practiced this activity. Many inventions happened around it as it was an important practice. Trapping of fish led to development of baskets. Spinning and weaving was later invented.

Spinning and weaving is an important cultural practice that led to the development and evolution of the world. It is part of the creative culture that is identified by most traditional people. People learnt how to swim in the process. And the invention of canoes and boats also came to pass. It enabled man to travel across water, thus water transport.
