Home to a horde of every marine life imaginable, the coast of Panama attracts both the local and foreign fishing enthusiasts. Aside from possessing famous landmarks like the Santo Domingo Church and the Colon's Church by the Sea, the country also seats delectable beaches with fine white sand and a healthy growth of palm and coconut trees. The country is indeed an ideal destination for Panama sportfishing fans.

Some people would even call the country a mecca for fishing fans not only because of the literal meaning of the name which is abundance of fish, but because of the wide range of fish that flock to its coasts. The healthy waters and proliferation of aquatic plant life invite different schools of fish to flock and wallow in the warm waters of the country.

As a major breeding ground for marine life due to its warm and safe waters, diverse hordes of marine life are often found lurking in corals, frolicking in sea beds and just wallowing in the bluegreen pristine waters that surround the country.

Newbies to the activity may not know much about it. Sport fishing is just like normal fishing except for the fact that it is done fore pleasure or competition and not for profit or dire survival. It often uses fishing rods, hooks, lines and reels the same with the traditional way of fishing. With regards to the use of bait, it usually depends on the target fish that a fisher intends to catch.

Different fishing locations are often provided to fishing enthusiasts to allow for more accommodation and in turn allows more tourists to frequent into the country. This leniency of the government though should not be mistaken for lack of safety precautions. In fact, the country has been declared to be one of the safest countries that can play host to a large number of tourists.

Another location worth considering is the St. Andrew Bay. This bay plays hosts to coral reefs and wrecks that invite a variation of marine life to frolick around the area. Sport fishing enthusiasts will marvel at the great diversity of marine life in the area. Near St. Andrews is the Bayside Pier where fishers can opt t catch trout, mackerel or redfish. Summer is usually the busiest time for the pier.

Also near this pier is the place that they call Golf Side pier. This one, unlike Bayside pier, is closer to the ocean which would mean that there is great view for the fisher while waiting for some sort of marine life to take the bait. Most of the fish that can be caught in this area are usually rare and are often found in the deeper parts of the ocean. This is just one of the many advantages of fishing in this country.

Indulging in Panama sportfishing isn't simply a great way to spend the vacation or summer, it can be an annual tradition of bonding for the family or it can be a personal ritual for relaxation and stress relieving. Remember though that some marine life are prohibited from being caught like sharks, dolphins and whales. It would be best to consult the environmental laws of the state just to make sure that you are not doing any harm to the environment. Read more about: panama sportfishing
