If you are one of those that do not like running, you can get great calorie burn and effective workouts in many other ways. Think about swimming, walking and hiking or perhaps riding a bike. Think about exercises that you enjoy.

If you happen to fall into this category, then you should think about other kinds of exercise like biking, hiking, walking or swimming. They all are great ways to exercise and burn calories in ways that are similar to the ones burned while running.

The important thing to always remember is that you need to have at least thirty minutes of exercise at least three times per week. If all you can manage is to go for a walk, then that is better than nothing.

A common misconception is that people think that if they don't do something very strenuous or high impact and burn a thousand calories every time, then it isn't worth it. This is a bad misunderstanding, and the fact is that exercise is good and effective no matter what it is.

After you learn that you can get good exercise from doing many things. Look at things that interest you, and match your workout to fit your tastes. If you like to swim, but hate to run, then don't run. Go to the local pool and watch the calories melt away while you are enjoying yourself.

Maybe you are more into hiking trails and heading outdoors. Hiking is an incredibly great and fun way to burn calories while you lose a ton of weight while building your leg muscles.

In the same way, biking offers great workouts, especially in hilly areas. The only think is that you need to think about is that unlike running and swimming, you have to take the bike with you.

Anyone can find ways to stay healthy and loose weight through exercise. All you need is a willingness to just do it without making anymore excuses.
