Romantic Tourism in California: Palm Springs, San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Francisco

California has forever held a romantic place in the public's imagination since it was first incorporated into the union. The romanticism of California stills holds true today. California's impressive coastlines, picturesque beaches, gorgeous weather, and iconic locations combine to provide a memorable vacation for romantics.

San Diego is home to several romantic locations that are sure to set numerous hearts aflutter. San Diego's coastal location provide for many wonderful beaches. The more popular ones are Coronado Beach, Mission Bay, and La Jolla. The Glorietta Bay Inn and the Grande Colonial La Jolla are two noteworthy hotels that have grown in popularity due to their proximity to beaches and fine dining establishments.

Still other people enjoy heading to Los Angeles. Take a gondola through the canals and most people easily find love in the air. Others enjoy a meander through the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden. Looking at the beautiful flowers will melt any lover's heart. Still others enjoy taking in some of the great concerts offered at the Getty Museum.

Santa Barbara is a city with a Mediterranean flavor: it has white sandy beaches, Spanish-styled architecture and delicious wine. The Santa Barbara Court House is a great place to admire architecture. Butterfly Beach and Hendry's Beach are two popular beaches in the area, although there are ten overall. Wine tours are also prevalent. Many vineyards can be found in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Another romantic city is San Francisco. Many love to hike the trails at Crissy Field, especially right before sunset for a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Many also enjoy a visit to Treasure Island, or Twin Peaks. Both offer outstanding views of the city. For sunset cocktails, head to one of the downtown bars. Many offer great view of the city.

Palm Springs offers many opportunities to fall in love. Try a round of golf at one of the many well manicured golf clubs or try a game of tennis at one of the great clubs. Palm Springs also offers some great hiking trails that simply beg to be enjoyed. After an active day, enjoy a dinner for two from one of the several romantic restaurants in the city.

Many people have given testimonials about the exquisiteness of their romantic California vacation. A top recommendation was to try the local wine. They frequently sighted the breath-taking views of the beaches, skylines and iconic sights. A word of advice: bring a camera!
