A hunter can exercise the sport in the southeastern regions of Arizona. There is a large number of this species in this region of the country, and tags are issued twice a year by the San Carlos Indian Reservation. The tags are issued in late November and again in January.

Since white tails have such great senses, they easily adapt to the behavior of hunters. Thus, it is important to start seeking game in the beginning of the season. Hunters may not be able to have any success if they wait till the end of the season.

The best time of day to hunt is in the morning after the sun has been up. This will allow for better viewing or spotting. The sunlight will also reflect off the the white tail's backs, making them easier to spot. When choosing a vantage point be sure to avoid direct sunlight.

Having the right equipment is highly important when enjoying Coues Deer hunting. A pair of binoculars is essential. Especially when placed on a tripod. The tripod will limit hand movement and make the animals easier to spot with the binoculars. It is also essential to have a sling for your gun. This allows your hands to be free for climbing.
