Mountain Biking With A GPS Watch

By Andy Smith

Mountain biking is truly an adrenaline fuelled sport and there's nothing better than speeding down an off-road dirt track on a Saturday afternoon. Hitting a nice jump and landing it perfectly. Covering the distance and having fun are just a couple of reasons why people get out and enjoy this awesome sport.

However there a few who take things a little more seriously than others and feel the need to want to go further, jump higher and go faster and then do even more the next time. These people want to know exact information on their own performance so they can track their own progression and get better at mountain biking.

It's generally accepted that most people should look for biking shoes that can work with both clip-less and clip pedals. Clip-less is generally the normal design for most biking shoes, but you'll also find that there are shoes that also come with different styles and designs as well like toe clips and standard peddled shoes as well.

Listed below are some basic design features that you should consider while purchasing mountain biking helmets:

Thankfully, most mountain bikes made today do not have these clips and riders are able to remove and insert their foot in and out of the pedal with ease, but nonetheless having proper shoes is important so that you can keep traction with the pedal itself.

The quality shoes made by Shimano do not have any laces due to the fact that they can become tangled up in the bike chain itself. The shoes should also allow for plenty of room for the bike rider's feet should they begin sweating after prolonged biking.

There are numerous brands that offer different range of mountain biking helmets. Consider buying one that suits your needs and fits well into your budget rather that simply buying any helmet from the next-street store.
