Black German Shepherd also known as Deutscher Schaferhund came from Germany dating back to 1899. These huge-sized canines are comparatively new breed and belong to the herding group that aid in driving sheep flocks. Being innately strong, trainable and intelligent, these dogs have become part of law enforcing activities along rescue operations.

The black German Shepherd puppy is very elegant and majestic to look at. It is a very obedient dog with the highly protective nature making it a favoured dog both as a pet and guard dogs. Initially the dog was simply bred to preserve its features of strength, cleverness and sharp sense of smell. However, later on the show dogs and confirmation dogs were bred for different physical traits like the color of the dog.

In Germany, an organization was founded aiming to standardize dog breeds. But later on, because of clashes among its members, the organization was dispersed. Now, we have a variety of colors and traits of the German Shepherd.

Horand, the first German Shepherd and is on the society's list became the main subject of breeding programs. He was the father of different pups, including Hektor von Schwaben, which had the most successful breed.

Being highly appreciatedby soldiers after the World War I, German Shepherds served as war and police dogs. This made them world renowned. But during the World War II, due to the rise of anti-German attitudes, their popularity fell off, however eventually revived due to its near perfect traits.

There are certain regulations to follow when breeding a German Shepherd. Or else, poorly managed breed leads to genetic defects like folded ears, weak disposition, hip dysplasia, pale color and incomplete teeth.

Physical features of a Black German Shepherd puppy are long muzzle, brown eyes and black nose. Average height, weight and length set by UK Kennel Club are 25 inches, 88 pounds and 26 inches consecutively.

Black German Shepherd pups are also confident and attentive shown on their always upward ears. Moreover, they also have scissor like bite, domed forehead, square-like muzzle and pronounced jaws.

Although they can be a variety of colors, the tan black and red black mix is the most frequent coat. Nevertheless, all of the varieties featuring the black color have the black masks and body. The markings on the body may be a blanket color or the classic saddle style. There is also a variety which is all black and the puppies look very beautiful.
