Berley Bucket: An Absolute Must-have Fishing Equipment

Catching a fish, whether game fishing or fishing for a job, lies in having a good berley trail. So for the next time you go fishing make sure your berley trail will lure fish around your bait. One tip to having a good berley trail is to have the appropriate berley bucket. These containers can be reasonably expensive so you must invest your hard earned money in something which will really serve its purpose and will serve you for a longer time.

When looking for a berley bucket, check if it is simple for you to use. There are buckets that can be permanently mounted on transoms and there also are removable polyethylene buckets. Removable ones are recommended for those that don't continually go fishing. There also are buckets appropriate for mounting in marlin boards. Buckets made from wire are best for lake fishing as the stainless-steel construction can resist toothy fish. Berley buckets come in little or short size, medium, long, or XL size to suit different transom heights. Most buckets come supplied with robust aluminum berley muncher. Some buckets have holes that may be enlarged by you depending on the desired size.

Most stores and fishing equipment merchants carry berley buckets with the other water vessel and fishing apparatus. In your pursuit for the best bucket for your dinghy, find one that is good quality, long lasting and crack resistant and can be modified to different weights to match the changing tidal conditions. Look for a berley bucket that is made out of UV stabilized polyethylene so it can function without being effected by salt water and the sun.

But except for finding the right bucket, don't forget to mount your berley bucket correctly else it will not function the way that it should. It is usually recommended that you mount it on a sliding bracket and ensure that the bottom part is slightly above the bottom of your ship.
