If you have been fishing for a while, you have probably heard of the two most common types of fishing nowadays - coarse fishing and pike fishing.

Coarse fishing is a term used in the fishing UK and Ireland for angling for coarse fish, which are those types of freshwater fish other than game fish such as trout and salmon. The sport and the techniques used are particularly popular in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe ever since it began in the United Kingdom in the early 19th century.

There are a number of types of coarse fishing. First is pleasure angling where anglers just go out to enjoy a relaxing day's fishing, without any exerting any efforts or fishing with a little seriousness. Match angling is another type characterized by anglers coming together at an area to get as many fish as possible in a particular period of time. Specimen hunting is another which is directed towards selecting a chosen species of fish to catch, weighing it and taking a photo with it, The primary point is to get either a carp, pike, zander, barbel club, and others.

Then the other type of popular fishing is pike angling. It has become a hobby in the UK and Europe. This kind of fishing is aimed towards catching pike or Holarctic fish which is found all over the world. Effective means for catching this hard fighting fish include dead baits, lure fishing, and jerk baiting. They are seen as game fish because they are known to be fighters and have been food fish since ancient times.

A lof of fishermen's angling tackle has a live bait to catch a pike and these baits come in so many shapes and sizes. When choosing the kind of bait you'll use it is also preferrable to check out where you should fish. In general, the larger the lake, the larger the pike's prey fish; the larger the pike's prey fish, the larger the pike. Therefore, the larger the lake, the larger the bait you'll need.
