The function of being able to lengthen an AR 15 stock is a major advantage. This is because it enables a user to change their rifle specifically how long the pull is. The adjustment can be done to suit the task at hand.

This is very useful if the rifle is being used for military purposes. It can be shortened when it needs to be used with armor and to make it compact to carry.
