Have you ever asked yourself to get one of those electric bikes for you family when you see someone whizzing along?
Definitely yes.Many years ago when my husband bought a rechargeable electric bike to keep up with the grandchildren when they are out camping, it is not very capable of serving its purpose in the camping area but it does serve its purpose when it is used in the neighborhood or even at home.
During that time when he acquired it, the bike was only around $400The kind of bike and the batteries it use will make the price differ from $399 or up.
The electric bike of my husband seems to still be well and good. The batteries that came along with my husband's electric bike despite often recharged still works perfectly. A lot of the newer electric bikes have a battery which is much lighter, and more efficient.
The local bike trail is usually used as an exercise device when we are at home. I have to pump all the way there and all the way back since I haven't got an electric bike yet. He does love to zoom along and watch other bikers eye him enviously as he passes them and while I'm trying to catch up with him he does slow a little.
When we get home, my husband plugs his bike for it to recharge so it will be ready for his next adventure.
When we are out camping, my husband brings a portable solar panel to recharge on board the batteries in the electric bike. The electric bike of my husband is even recharged by our grand kids. They even want a bike of their own.
Electric bikes come in different shape, size and color. There are even bikes that are more scooter or motorcycles in feature.
On top of my list would be a little red electric bike with a nice basket and a kickstand on its side. Can you just imagine seeing me around the lake with my grand kids trying to catch up with grandma pedaling their legs out?
Despite the idea of trading your old style pedal bike with an electric one, how about taking some time knowing more about these cool electric bikes. More of us may be parking our cars and hopping onto bikes than ever before with a gas increase lurking around.
