By Mervin Stollendall

Of all the types of fishing today, only one has truly gotten people hooked and addicted and that is carp fishing.

Carp fishing is catching of fish that is of the Cyprinidae family. This type of fishing can be conducted in so many ways using different techniques and also using different carp bait.

First off is the natural baits. These baits include animals like shrimps, bloodworms, daphnia, snails, and freshwater mussels. Although carps feed on almost anything, they are not the kind that's really attracted to natural baits.

Yet one more kind of carp bait is the small sized bait. They are named such because they are obviously small in size. Examples of baits like this are trout pellets, hemp, multimass and partiblend which are too minute that you would really need equipment so that they'll be attached to the hook.

Commercial base mixes are another classification of carp bait. These are the ones that are utilized during the making of homemade baits.

Some other varieties of carp bait include the dough baits. These dough baits are also called boilies which are typically made of dough that has a hard outer shell. These are made in so many sizes, colors and flavors.

Aside from this, you can also try using dry dog food to catch carp. This is because most dog food pellets have corn which is perfect for carp fishes. To validate if a dog food has corn, you can check out the back of the packaging for the food's contents. Another way to check is by asking for the price because the lower the price of the dog food, the more corn it has. What entices anglers to use this kind of bait is that it can be softened by just adding water and can be instantly placed in the hook.

Canned sweet corn is yet another kind of carp bait. The way to use this is to just sprinkle them on the water and a single kernel of corn is then attached to the hook for bait.

The final type of carp bait is the maggots. Maggots are actually worms that are known to really grab the attention of carps when they are placed at the tip of the hook as baits.

So that's about all the types of carp bait you can use for your carp fishing expedition; choose which one suits you best and catch all the carp you can get when fishing UK.
